NIALL CONNELLY

On Sunday, August 9 at 3 pm we are quite happy to welcome back Niall Connolly. Irish by birth and accent, Niall now lives in the Irish Riviera neighborhood of The Rockaways in and around the Queens/Long Island border. Happy to have him make the trip over the bridge to join us as he celebrates the release of his new album, There’s So Much More to See. His 10th release in his 25 year career of recording.

Music magazine, No Depression, had this say of Niall and his work…”Among the most vibrant, poignant, and authentic indie folk artists in New York City.” Perhaps the most key word in that quote is “indie.” No support from a big record company nor big wallet patrons of the arts. Just one man with his guitar, voice and the poetic capacity to spin a tale to music. We are lucky to have him. Won’t you please join us.

ROBINSON TREACHER W/SPECIAL GUEST...PETE BAVARO

Making his maiden appearance on Sunday, November 9 is local area favorite, Robinson Treacher. We saw him open for Willie Nile up in Beacon, NY and thought that we should ask him to perform here at the house. From his bio he is described as:

At the crossroads of Blues, Folk and Americana lies Robinson Treacher. Whether it be in the studio or in live performance, Robinson’s emotionally dramatic songwriting style is matched only by his deeply passionate vocals. Steeped in what can only be labeled as a “traditional” songwriting format, Robinson has taken fibers from all genres. Including rock, country, R&B & folk, and woven them into a distinct tapestry, one that is clearly distinguishable among others in the singer/songwriter genre.

In addition to Robinson we are thrilled to have opening the show our very own PETE BAVARO. You may know Pete as our sound guy here at the house. He is, in addition to that, a fine tunesmith. A founding member of the late 80’s, early 90’s band, Serious Pilgrim. Come see and hear him n to only sing but do his own sound :)

WARREN ZANES: Entering NEBRASKA

WARREN ZANES: Entering NEBRASKA

Entering Nebraska is a unique, words-and-music show based on Warren Zanes’s book Deliver Me from Nowhere: The Making of Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska. Now a 20th Century Studios film adaptation starring Jeremy Allen White, Deliver Me from Nowhere captures Springsteen’s tumultuous but inspired early 1980’s experiences. This show, Entering Nebraska, is the book come-to-life, featuring celebrated musicians Kate Fenner, David Mansfield, and Teddy Thompson.

Warren Zanes first met Bruce Springsteen in 1984, when Zanes was still a teenager and Springsteen was riding high with his biggest album, Born in the U.S.A. They crossed one another’s paths at Greensboro, North Carolina's Rhinoceros Club. Zanes was there with his band The Del Fuegos when Springsteen walked into the group’s small dressing room, joining The Del Fuegos onstage that night, letting a little small town magic flood the room.

Zanes would meet Springsteen at a few other points throughout his life, but he would always see Springsteen as "the guy who made Nebraska." Forty years after the album’s release, Zanes would sit with Springsteen, just the two of them talking for hours about how Nebraska was made, why it was different, what it means to release an imperfect, unfinished, and unexpected recording like Nebraska. Those conversations became the spine of a book about that recording and Springsteen’s life at the time. Judd Apatow has said, “This book, more than any other, reveals the hidden corners of Bruce Springsteen's creative world.”

Zanes’s show Entering Nebraska is a moving, sometimes funny, deep exploration of life falling apart, of art's redemptive power, and of the lasting place of Bruce Springsteen in American life and culture. Punctuated by the songs of Nebraska, this is the one-man-plus-music event that brings Zanes's to life in new and unexpected ways.

BOBBY MAHONEY (SOLO) & ADAM SILVESTRI (RADIATOR KING) SOLO

Join us on Sunday, June 1 for a rare double bill featuring New Jersey”s own, Bobby Mahoney and direct from Los Angeles by way of Boston, Adam Silvestri…perhaps best known by his recording name and persona, Radiator King. Tickets are just $25. You cannot beat that with a stick! Do not sleep on this one. Catch them on the rise.

"Bobby Mahoney is a singer/songwriter, guitarist, and bandleader from East Brunswick, NJ. In 2024, he released the "Another Deadbeat Summer" album with Little Steven Van Zandt's "Wicked Cool Records". Bobby has been touring for over ten years, and has brought his original mix of punk rock and NJ rock 'n' roll to cities across the US, Canada, Europe, and the UK! Bobby, both solo and with the band, has shared the stage with the likes of Bon Jovi, Against Me!, Frank Turner, and more.

Anchored between punk and blues – a porch and an alley – lies Radiator King, the performing/recording name of Boston native and Los Angeles based, Adam Silvestri. Established in 2011, Radiator King’s music shows influences from both Dylan and Strummer with a sound described by Huffington Post as a “heady new sound highlighted by his working class frankness and authenticity, a sound that’s raw and catchy”. Whether playing solo or backed by a band, Radiator King embodies the raw energy of punk, the grit and intricacy of delta blues and the lyrical potency of folk in “songs that are equivalent to an old whiskey bar at the end of a dirt road”.

JOE D'URSO AND THE STONE CARAVAN

Long over due for a show here we have finally managed to find a date that is mutually convenient. Described as good old fashioned rock and roll, Joe and The Stone Caravan are live on Sunday, November 5 at 3 pm. None other than Hamilton Park favorite, Willie Nile says that Joe and band play “American backyard gasoline rock and roll.”

A fierce supporter of the needy and less fortunate, Joe is a board member of Light of Day Foundation, Why Hunger and Artists Against Hunger and Poverty amongst others. How he finds the time is anyone’s guess. Together we have found the time though to get him here to support his latest release, “Thurman.” Join us.

MICHAEL MCDERMOTT

MICHAEL MCDERMOTT

Returning for his 3rd visit to Hamilton Park, Michael, has accomplished a lot in the 3 years between shows here. A new album, St Paul’s Boulevard, and as always well reviewed! A memoir, Scars From Another Life….a life of alcohol and drug abuse, self destruction, financial despair and the life of music that saved him! In 2022 he won the Tenco Award for songwriting. In truth an award that I had not heard of but counts among it’s winners…Sting, Leonard Cohen, Tom Waits and if they were not enough…Jackson Browne, Joni Mitchell, Elvis Costello, Randy Newman and David Crosby. Come see and hear why author Stephen King says that Michael “just made me so fucking happy to have ears.”

Tickets are $25 in advance and can be paid through a variety of digital options. Zelle and PayPal at rayheff@mac.com. Venmo at Ray-Heffernan. Apple Pay at 718-300-1034. CORMAC BEGLEY

Joining us for one of two concerts in America on this run, Cormac Begley, hails from the area around Dingle, County Kerry, Ireland. The town of Dingle holds a special place in my heart as this is the area that my mom was born and raised and that I spent 2 summers growing up. Cormac is a renowned musician and master of the concertina, the smallest and most compact of the squeezebox family. Come experience an afternoon of traditional Irish music as you would in many a pub in Ireland. It should be quite an entertaining show as we celebrate 126 days from St.Patrick’s Day :)

Tickets are available now by emailing me at rayheff@mac.com and are only $20 in advance. Do not miss this authentic afternoon of music. Who knows, perhaps it may turn into a traditional Irish seisun.

Returning for their 4th visit to Hamilton Park and their 2nd to the backyard, The Weeklings are live on Sunday, September 17 at 3pm. Arguably one of America’s greatest Beatles cover bands, they are additionally wonderful singer, songwriters in their own right that are quick to pen many a fine tune greatly influenced by the 60’s sound of the garage rock and pop they grew up loving. Their shows are always a fine mix of song and a joyous occasion that we are thrilled to welcome back.

Join us in the backyard for the party. Bring a chair, a snack, a liquid refreshment and a friend. Tickets are $40 in advance. Email rayheff@mac.com for additional info.
